• Qualification: MBBS degree with a recognized and requisite postgraduate qualification in the concerned specialty and registration as a Medical Practitioner in the Medical Council of India; And have to enroll with the West Bengal Medical Council within six months of joining the West Bengal Health Service.

A total of 750 vacancies are available for the position of Medical Officer (General Duty).
A total of 679 vacancies are available for the position of Medical Officer (Specialist).

The salary for the post of Medical Officer (General Duty) is set at Pay Band (PB-4A) of Rs 15,600-42,000/- plus Grade Pay of Rs 5,400/-.
The minimum qualification required for the post of Medical Officer (General Duty) is: MBBS degree with a recognized and requisite postgraduate qualification in the concerned specialty and registration as a Medical Practitioner in the Medical Council of India; And have to enroll with the West Bengal Medical Council within six months of joining the West Bengal Health Service..
