Selection Procedure

1. Written Exam - The written test will consist of objective type questions and will consist of two papers. Paper-I is a qualifying examination only. Candidates securing minimum 40% marks in Paper-I will be included in Paper II. Marks obtained in Paper-I will not be counted for preparation of merit list for appearing in interview or final selection. Candidates securing minimum 50 marks (50%) out of 100 will qualify in the interview. Final selection will be on the basis of merit list prepared on the basis of aggregate marks obtained in Paper-II and Interview.

• Qualification: For Hindu candidates only, a Degree in Shastri/Acharya in Sanskrit. And during Shastri/Acharya there should be 'Karam Kand' as the primary/main subject. OR One-year Diploma in 'Karam Kand'.

Pandit (Gorkha)

• Vacancies: 05
• Qualification: For Hindu candidates only, a Degree in Shastri/Acharya in Sanskrit. And during Shastri/Acharya there should be 'Karam Kand' as the primary/main subject. OR One-year Diploma in 'Karam Kand'.

Granthi

• Vacancies: 08
• Qualification: For Sikh candidates only, Graduation in any discipline from a University recognized by UGC. The person should be knowledgeable in Punjabi.

Maulvi (Sunni)

• Vacancies: 03
• Qualification: For Muslim candidates only, with Graduation in any discipline from a UGC-recognized university. It should be Alim in Arabic or Adib-e-Mahir/Urdu proficiency in Urdu.

Maulvi (Shia) for Ladakh Scouts

• Vacancies: 01
• Qualification: For Muslim candidates only, with Graduation in any discipline from a UGC-recognized university. It should be Alim in Arabic or Adib-e-Mahir/Urdu proficiency in Urdu.

Pastor (Padre)

• Vacancies: 02
• Qualification: For Christian Candidate Only, Graduation in any discipline from a UGC recognized University. In addition, the person should have been ordained a priest by the appropriate ecclesiastical authority and is on the approved list of the local bishop.

Bodh Monk (Mahayana)

• Vacancies: 01
• Qualification: For Buddhist candidates only, Graduation in any discipline from a UGC-recognized University. In addition, the person should be ordained as a monk/Buddhist priest by the appropriate authority. The term 'appropriate authority' shall mean the head priest of the monastery where the person has been ordained to the priesthood. The head priest must be in possession of a Geshe (Ph.D.) of Khanpa or Lopon or Rajbaum, as well as the appropriate certificate from the monastery.
