The Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM) (JAM) is an admission test to Master of Science (M.Sc.) and other post-graduate science programs at the Indian Institutes of Technology, Indian Institute of Science, and other institutes. IITs started conducting the JAM in the 2004 – 2005 academic session. The main objective of JAM is to provide admissions to various M.Sc., M.Sc.-Ph.D. dual-degree and other post-graduate programs based on the performance in a single test. In due course, JAM is also expected to become a benchmark for normalising undergraduate-level science education in the country.

JAM Admit Card 2018
The admit card will be available from 9 January 2018. The admit card will bear the Candidate’s Name, Registration Number, Photograph etc. The admit card will only be available on the official website only for those eligible candidates who have submitted their duly filled application forms before the due date.
The candidates should know that an admit card is an important document to be carried at the exam centre else, the candidates will not be allowed to appear in the examination.

The tie-breaking criterion for awarding the ranks to candidates scoring the same aggregate marks in a test paper will be as follows:
The candidate with a higher ratio of positive marks to negative marks will be given a higher rank.
If this criterion fails to break ties, the candidates concerned will be awarded the same rank.
